Dr Katerina Bambang MRCOG PhD is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Sub-Specialist in Reproductive Medicine and has been at the Hewitt Centre for just under 10 years. She has a special interest in fertility preservation and Recurrent Pregnancy Loss. She also runs a Paediatric Gynaecology clinic at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital NHS Trust.
She has a PhD in early pregnancy. She underwent core training in Birmingham and Manchester hospitals and then undertook sub-specialty training in reproductive medicine and surgery at the Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust. She completed this in 2018 and was appointed there as a consultant in 2019.
Katerina is lead for fertility preservation for children and young adults and is a founding member of the Northern Consortium for Fertility Preservation. She has published in a range of peer reviewed journals and has also contributed to books.
Her research interests currently focus on the role of nutrition in early pregnancy and miscarriage and she is currently supervising a PhD student in this field. She is on the steering committee for the ESHRE European Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine .
She has a special interest in all areas of fertility care especially reproductive endocrinology as well as recurrent pregnancy loss and the emerging field of integrative gynaecology, having recently received formal certification in this area.
